Meet Juel

Founder & Creative Director | Runway Salon + Head Spa

Third-Generation Hairstylist | Educator | Editorial & Celebrity Artist

As a third-generation hairstylist, the beauty industry has been part of her life for as long as she can remember. With more than three decades behind the chair and two decades as a salon owner, Juel’s career began in the Pacific Northwest before being shaped by one of the most respected training environments in the industry.

She completed advanced training with the prestigious Gene Juarez Salon Company during its most influential era in the 1990s, where technical excellence, artistry, and elevated guest experience were treated as non-negotiable standards. The culture of education, precision, and professionalism that defined Gene Juarez during those years continues to influence how Juel approaches both her craft and salon leadership today.

From there, Juel’s passion for artistry expanded into advanced makeup training, launching a dual career as both a hairstylist and makeup artist. Her work quickly grew beyond the salon floor and into the world of editorial, celebrity styling, film, and red carpet events in Los Angeles & New York, where she collaborated on magazine shoots, award shows, and film productions.

Today, Juel remains a signed artist with her talent agency and continues to take on select editorial, celebrity, and on-set projects, allowing her to stay connected to the evolving fashion and beauty industry while bringing fresh inspiration, techniques, and industry perspective back to the salon environment.

When the world paused during COVID, Juel made the decision to return to the place she once called home in North Idaho. Having grown up in the region, the move felt both personal and purposeful.

What she saw here was an opportunity.

Clients deserved access to world-class artistry, advanced educated stylists, and the most respected professional product lines in the world — without having to travel to a major city. Stylists deserved a salon environment where their careers could grow through mentorship, structure, and continued education.

From that vision, Runway Salon + Head Spa was born.

Today, Runway is built on the philosophy that beauty services should feel elevated, intentional, and rooted in expertise. Every chemical service includes advanced treatments, every artist participates in ongoing education, and every guest experience is designed to feel both luxurious and deeply personalized.

But what Juel is most proud of isn’t the accolades or the decades of experience.

It’s the team.

Her leadership style centers around mentorship, transparency, and opportunity — creating a space where stylists are supported not only in mastering their craft, but in building sustainable, fulfilling careers. Through the Summit Salon systems structure, ongoing education, and a collaborative leadership team, Runway artists are given the tools to grow both creatively and financially.

For stylists who believe in continued education, collaboration, and building a long-term career in the beauty industry, Runway was intentionally designed to be the kind of environment where artists can thrive.

Outside the salon, Juel is a mother of two and a lifelong creative, still working behind the chair while continuing to draw inspiration from fashion, editorial beauty, travel, and vintage design. Her belief is simple:

When artists are supported, inspired, and educated, incredible things happen.

And when clients sit in their chair, they should feel that difference immediately.

  • “After all these years, what still excites me most about this industry is the same thing that drew me to it in the beginning — the opportunity to create, to mentor, and to help people feel extraordinary in their everyday lives.”
